Athletics Update: The girls' game tonight at Forks will begin at 7pm. This change is due to bus issues along the journey.
The game will not be shown on NFHS but will be shown on their district youtube channel at the attached link.

The high school and middle school boys' basketball games are still scheduled to continue as planned tomorrow, so long as the other teams can make it to us. (All are home events) Should there be any updates or changes, we will post here.
Ocean Beach School District will not have school tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16th due to inclement weather.
The wrestling tournament that was scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, January 13th at Black Hills High School has been canceled.
For Saturday, January 13th, both the boys' and girls' JV and Varsity games that were supposed to be played at IHS are cancelled. The other teams are unable to make the journey due to weather.
The girls' home basketball game for tonight Friday, January 12th against South Bend/Raymond has some changes. There will not be a JV game and Varsity will start at 6pm. We hope to see you there!

IHS Cheer is hosting a mini cheer camp fundraiser on Wednesday, January 17th & Thursday, January 18th from 4-5:30 in the IHS Cafeteria. The cost is $35. Our Cheerios will perform during half-time at the boys varsity basketball game on Saturday, January the 20th. The game starts at 7pm. (see the attached flyer)

If you are traveling to tonight's boys' basketball game in Cathlamet, be aware that there are flood warnings on the Washington side. We are adjusting our travel plans for our team and will take the Oregon side. We want our families and fans safe as well. See you there!
We had an exciting week at IHS.
Monday:
We kicked off the week with our School Board Work Session and the regular School Board Meeting. A special thank you to all those who joined us and took the opportunity to tour our school building.
Tuesday:
The week continued with a bustling Tuesday, featuring the FISH PTO meeting in our library, followed by a Senior Class Parent Group Meeting and a BOOSTER Club Meeting. Meanwhile, our boys' basketball team secured an exhilarating victory against Centralia in a non-league match-up.
Wednesday:
Esports enthusiasts participated in their first winter competition, although the results didn't go our way with a 0-2 loss. The evening was filled with musical delights as the Mariachi and Choir performed. Later that night, our Mariachi Band embarked on a journey to San Antonio to attend the Mariachi Extravaganza, engaging in learning and competition and they will return back to the peninsula on Sunday evening.
Thursday:
Ms. Anderson's Natural Resources class had an educational field trip to Cape Disappointment, where they learned from Park Ranger Aaron. Meanwhile, Mrs. Vasquez's class, fresh from completing a book study, ventured out to the Neptune Theater to watch the movie adaptation of the book. Our boys' basketball team hit the road to Toutle Lake, where they played a close match, although the result wasn't in our favor.
We've included a couple of snapshots capturing the essence of our weekly happenings. Stay tuned for next week's events, and be on the lookout at the beginning of next week for information about the upcoming conferences on the 12th-15th.
If you didn’t make it to the IHS Concert and Jazz Band performance last night then you missed something truly amazing. Here’s a snippet. Next Wednesday the 29th our Choir and Mariachi Band perform at Hilltop auditorium at 7pm. If you wanted to be awed by talent and dedication of our youth and their amazing teacher then please block out your calendar. You won't want to miss it!

For the boys, Jacob Mathison takes 33rd with a time of 18:08, Wyse Mulinix placed 129th with 20:03 and Sammy Lloyd takes 130th with a time of 20:08.

Families of IHS, we want to remind you that tonight is the kick-off meeting for the FISH parent/guardian group. This is a non-school affiliated group with the focus on supporting our students and staff and all of the wonderful things we hope to create at IHS. If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved please join the group tonight from 6-7pm in the IHS library.
Our Senior Class Parents are kicking off the fundraising mission with a couple of good ones including a Charleston Wrap Fundraiser and a Poinsettia /Christmas Cactus Sale. The group is raising money to create a safe and sober graduation celebration for our 2024 Senior Class.
