Announcements

  • For our families who are feeling the effects of the government shut-down, the Ocean Beach School District has some ways to help support children and families during this difficult time. We have the following services available:

Free and Reduced Breakfast and Lunch:

    • For single-income families whose wages are being withheld, please contact one of the schools that your children attend and inform the secretary. Your students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch, and school staff will submit an application for you.
    • For two-income families, you will need to fill out a new meal application listing the amount of the single current income, which may make your children eligible for free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Forms are available at each school and on the school website at https://www.ocean.k12.wa.us/page/179.

    Family Resource Coordinator:

The district employs a Family Resource Coordinator, Elly Rosaire. Elly can help you navigate benefits that might be available to you, access to food support, and other options to help with your circumstances. Please either text Elly at 360-214-0000 or email her at elly.rosaire@oceanbeachschools.org. If you cannot text or email, please call 360-642-1100, and a message will be given to her.

    Project Community Connect:

On Thursday, January 24th from 9:30-2:30 at the Long Beach Elks, an event is scheduled allowing community members access to free veterinary care, haircuts, some medical services, appointments with the Family Resource Coordinator, a hot meal, and many other services.

    Wrap Around Supports:

Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 1:00-2:30 at the Pacific County Health Department on Sandridge Road, there is a multiple agency support program where you can access housing supports, mental health supports, employment supports, and other services. Call Christina Thompson at 360-642-6100 for more information.

    School Fines and Fees:

Any school fines or fees accrued during the shut-down period will be deferred until 90 days after the return of back-wages to affected families. We know with deferred wages, it will take time to get back to your normal family financial situation.
