• Migrant Education Program 


    The Migrant Education Program, in partnership with our community, supports the unique educational and health needs of migrant students by enhancing their opportunities for personal success and advocating for quality services that promote responsible and productive individuals.

    Migrant students are students who have crossed district boundaries to seek or obtain work in agricultural industries. This includes fishermen, cannery workers, oystermen, cranberry growers, and workers in all agricultural pursuits.

    The Washington State Migrant Education Program (MEP), is funded by a federal grant to support programs of education for migratory children.

    Ocean Beach School District Services to migrant children and their families may include:
     
    • Supplemental academic programs to assist in the achievement of state academic standards;
    • Instructional training;
    • Medical Physicals;
    • Family home visiting/ and academic counseling services;
    • Parental involvement; Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
    • Migrant student data and collection;
    • Student leadership opportunities;
    • Secondary credit accrual and exchange
