Culinary Skills Open Many Doors
There are many career paths in culinary arts ranging from food and safety inspectors to nutritional consultants, restaurant managers, and accomplished chefs. Culinary professionals are needed at all levels in the food industry and in wide-reaching geographic locations. The culinary industry can be competitive and students who develop workplace skills in high school will find themselves a step ahead of many entry-level workers. Students at Ilwaco High School can take courses in culinary and baking arts.
The student leadership organizaton associated with culinary arts is Future Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA.) Students have the opportunity to participate in culinary competitions and community service projects as members of FCCLA.
Courses in culinary arts include Culinary I and II and Baking & Pastry Arts.
