Welcome to Ilwaco Middle/High School! Our Mission is for Ilwaco to be a:
- Safe, respectful and inviting place,
- Where we set high standards and celebrate our achievements,
- Where learning is challenging, and engaging and
- Where we prepare students to live successful lives as stewards of their world.
The above statement reflects our desire to develop a healthy environment where students are free to learn and learn well. We offer many programs at Ilwaco. In fact, we offer many more programs than schools much larger than us. We believe that students at Ilwaco benefit from our small environment because they are known well by staff, and also enouraged to achieve at high levels.
In addition to academics, students find many opportunities to be involved music, arts, athletics, clubs, and school leadership. Between activities, athletics, and academics, recent student surveys show that students find Ilwaco to be a very inviting place.
We also strive to be a challenging and engaging place as we offer nine Advanced Placement courses, a GEAR UP program that encourages students to actively seek out college as an option, and also a strong Career and Technical program that prepares students for both college and careers.
The opportunities students receive at Ilwaco are designed to prepare them for successful lives so they can, in turn, help prepare others to lead successful lives. This is what we believe at Ilwaco and, in fact, what we aim to accomplish every day.
